Felix “Brother” T. Favaloro, Jr., beloved husband to Geraldine Staub Favaloro, passed away peacefully, in his recliner surrounded by his children, in his home on Friday, March 28, 2025 in Lafitte, Louisiana at the age of 92.
He is the son of the late Felix T. Favaloro, Sr. and Leona Charpentier Favaloro. He is the brother of Thomas J. Favaloro (Catherine), the late Camille Favaloro Hatty (Joseph), and the late Joseph D. Favaloro. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine and by his grandson Caleb Thomas Favaloro.
Felix “Brother” was born on March 4, 1933 in Lafitte, Louisiana. He loved to fish, hunt, play golf and pedro, tell stories, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Council and served his church parish devoutly. He was also a member of The Lafitte Yacht Club. In 1955, he married Geraldine Staub and they raised eight children together in Lafitte.
Felix had a true and strong devotion to his Catholic faith. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps. After serving his country, he was a school coach, teacher, counselor, and principal at Fisher High School. He loved working with the family business (The Fleming Canal Store). Felix loved his home and community on the Bayou and cherished Lafitte with all his heart. Felix raised his family in faith, love, strength, and compassion. He was a pure soul and a truly remarkable God fearing man. We would like to give our “guardian angel” Melinda Harlow a special thanks for taking care of both Geraldine and Felix Favaloro on their Heavenly Birthdays. You have been a God send.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is a loving father of Mark (Sonia), Michael (Wanda), Catherine Victoriano (Jerry), David (Margaret), Frank (Laura), Paul (Della), John (Tanya), and Felix (Vanessa). Adored grandfather of Kristi, Nathan (Melissa), Austin (Olivia), Dana McDonald (CJ), Gerard Victoriano (Cylee), Katie St. Ann (Chris), Allie Barrios, Bailey, Spencer, Connor, Kenzie, Tait (Julie), Colby, Emma, Isabella and Sofia. Cherished great grandfather of Savana Blais, Noah McDonald, Sawyer, Easton, Skyler, and Camden Victoriano, Gabrielle, Damian, Trendon, and Grayson St. Ann, Christian Barrios, Maci, Taitlynn, and Aurora Favaloro.
His funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at St. Anthony Church, 2653 Jean Lafitte Blvd, Lafitte, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The funeral Mass will begin at 12:30 pm. Interment to immediately follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave, Gretna, LA.
In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Anthony Catholic Church at 2653 Jean Lafitte Blvd., in Lafitte, La. in memory of Felix T. Favaloro, Jr. and Geraldine S. Favaloro.
