Felix W. Ring, age 97, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather passed away on January 1, 2026 at Greenway Terrace,
Spring Green, WI. He was born on February 17, 1928, the son of William and Margaret (Nachreiner) Ring.
Felix's dad died after a tragic car accident returning home from work when Felix was nine years old, leaving his mother, his five sisters and him to support themselves. He was grateful to find work at that age as a farmhand and later as a milk hauler and to be able to continue to attend school.
After graduation from St. Luke High School,
Plain, WI, Felix served in the Navy from 1945-1946. He and Mildred Meixelsperger were married on June 3, 1947 and moved to
Black Earth, WI where Felix worked at the local cheese factory. Moving to Plain in 1948, Felix worked at the locker plant until 1951 when he began his career at Ed Kraemer & Sons as a truck driver and eventually a crane operator until 1961 when he was promoted to bridge foreman. During this time, Felix sawed logs and piled lumber for the family home after working away from home on the bridge crew all week. Following his retirement from Kraemers, he was an avid fisherman, hunter and woodworker.
Felix was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed visits from his seven children and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Marv) Ruhland, Gloria (John) Pletzer, Ramona (Dan) Druckrey, Polly (Rich Sanning), Robert, and Mary (Len) Shelton. Additional survivors include his daughter-in law, Sharon (William) Ring, 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, his sister, Delores Terbilcox, sisters-in-law, Pearl Meixelsperger, Carol Meixelsperger, Darlene Meixelsperger and John (Josie) Meixelsperger, along with many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred, son William, sisters, Alma Liegel, Bertha Rieder, Martha Bindl, Agatha Bowar and several brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Luke Catholic Church,
Plain, WI with military rites conducted by the Plain American Legion Post #398. Father Kumud Nayak will officiate with burial in the church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at 11:30 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made St. Luke Catholic Church or
your favorite charity.
