Fern May Curtis, age 83, of Russellville, died Thursday, February 12, 2026, at her home. She was born August 10, 1942, in Lucerne, Indiana, to Paul and Velma Zinnerman Hess.
She attended First Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed drinking coffee and Coke, exercising, especially walking, taking care of animals and her yard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alga Ray Curtis; a daughter, Doris Curtis; three brothers, Keith, Pat and Paul Hess; and a sister, Dorothy Hess.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Bonita Curtis; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ken Peoples; two sisters, Shirley Magers and Barb Alder; four grandchildren, Tonya Curtis and her husband, Wes, Tina Curtis, Daniel Curtis and Kevin Peoples; and three great-grandchildren, Trent Curtis, Trey Curtis and Trevor Lyles.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2026, at Rest Haven Memorial Park with the Rev. Shannon Stokes officiating under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Pallbearers will be Danny Curtis, Kevin Peoples, Trey Curtis, Trent Curtis and Trevor Lyles.
