Fernando A. Barrera, born on December 20, 1960, in San Pedro, California, passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona, on September 20, 2025. Throughout his life, Fernando was a wonderful person whose warm spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many.
He is remembered fondly for his remarkable personality, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kindness and dedication to others will be greatly missed by friends and community members alike.
A celebration of Fernando’s life will include a visitation on October 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A rosary will follow at the same location, beginning at 7:00 PM and concluding at 7:30 PM.
The following day, on October 3, 2025, a Mass will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Parish, starting at 1:30 PM and lasting until 2:30 PM. Fernando will then be laid to rest during a burial at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, scheduled for 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Later that same day, a reception will take place at the Martinez North Chapel and Reception Hall from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
As we gather to celebrate his life, we will cherish the memories we hold close, remembering Fernando A. Barrera as a remarkable individual who enriched our lives with his presence and love.
