In Loving Memory of Fernando Cantu Sr
Fernando Cantu Sr, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, sibling, and friend, passed away on June 26, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on August 29, 1955, in Weslaco, Texas, to his loving parents, Maximiliano Cantu and Marcelina Mirelez.
Fernando was a man of unwavering strength and pride, characterized by his trustworthiness, sharp wit, patience, and generosity. He lived his life with a steadfast and unshakable spirit, always standing tall in the face of challenges. Fernando's love for western clothing was a reflection of his proud and strong demeanor.
On March 8, 1993, Fernando entered into a loving marriage with Margarita Guerrero, and together they shared 31 beautiful years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love and commitment.
Fernando was a dedicated member of the Catholic community, finding solace and strength in his faith. He found joy in simple pleasures, such as watching western movies, spending quality time with his youngest brother, and going on long drives with his wife after Sunday mass. His love for conjunto music, especially enjoyed out on the balcony, brought a sense of peace and tranquility to his soul.
Fernando was preceded in death by his parents, Maximiliano Cantu and Marcelina Mirelez, as well as Rene Cantu and Marcelena Cantu. He is survived by his loving wife Margarita Cantu, children Fernando Cantu Jr, Abran Cantu, Eudelia Cantu, and Christopher Cantu, siblings Valentine Cantu, Armilio Cantu, David Cantu, Theresa Cantu, and Johnny Cantu, along with 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Fernando's presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who mourn his loss.
[Special message:] Fernando's spirit will always be with us, guiding us with his wisdom and love. May his memory be a blessing to us all.
