Fernando Franco, 15 of Odessa, passed away on June 2, 2025 in Odessa.
Fernando “Nando” was born at Odessa Regional Medical Center to Lisa Flores and Fernando Franco Jr. on August 17, 2009. He attended Odessa High School in Odessa as a sophomore student. He accomplished many goals; competing in the spelling bee at Murry Fly elementary, playing football at Crockett Middle School, and received A/B honor roll awards. He was a part of a church group, first priority at school.
Fernando received his baptism, first communion, and confirmation at St. Elisabeth’s Catholic Church. Fernando was courageous, strong, kind, funny, passionate, and caring. He will most be remembered by his smile and personality.
Fernando loved watching UFC, football, and basketball. He enjoyed playing basketball, playing with his dog Daisy, working out, hanging out with his friends, and traveling with his family. In his free time, Fernando would binge watch Breaking Bad, Dexter, and Planet Of the Apes. Nando loved music and had a wide variety in his playlists. Fernando’s favorite foods were steak, cookies and cream ice cream, and blue Powerade.
Fernando is survived by his sisters; Ambry Salcido & brother in law Guadalupe Zubia, Laila Franco. Parents; Lisa Flores, Fernando Franco. Niece; Camila Zubia. Grandparents; Irma Franco, Fernando Franco Sr., Virginia Flores, Juan Manuel Flores. Uncles; Fabian Franco-Sebastian & Jobian Franco, Mario Franco & Jenny Franco- Mariah & Ivan Franco, Marshall Navarrette- Jack, Anevay, Alliyah, Kaisa, Arya, Xavier Navarrette, Godparents Amanda & Sergio Villa, Godsiblings Octavio Ziaira & Gigi Villa.
Visitation will be held Monday June 9, 2025 from 1:00PM - 9:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home "West Chapel" 10137 W University Blvd Odessa, Texas 79763 with a Rosary at 7:00PM.
Visitation will continue on Tuesday June 10, 2025 from 10:00AM - 9:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home "West Chapel" 10137 W University Blvd Odessa, Texas 79763 with a Rosary at 7:00PM.
Mass will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday June 11, 2025 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with burial to follow at Ector County Cemetery, Odessa, Texas.
Pallbearers will be- Sebastian Franco (honorary,) Octavio Tavarez, Crispin Granados, Jason Rodriguez, Jesse Rodriguez, Nate Mancha, Christian Galindo, Arian Frias, Alejandro Aguilera, and Vicente Aguilera.
The family of Fernando wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Holy Redeemer Church, Knights of Columbus, Martinez Funeral Home, and Odessa Police Department.
