Ferris Kleem Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Funeral & Cremation Services and Cemetery - North Olmsted on Jul. 31, 2024.
Ferris M. Kleem, 65, of Parma Heights, passed away on July 26, 2024, due to heart complications, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Cleveland and raised in Berea, Ohio, Ferris was the son of the late John and Farrel Kleem. He is survived by his siblings Helena (Andrew), Elizabeth, John (Cindy), Norma (William), Anthony (Mary), Christopher, and Cyril (Melissa), as well as his devoted partner, Theresa Lewis. Ferris took great pride in being the oldest brother and held his family in deep affection. He was an uncle, overflowing with fun and laughter, cherished by many nieces and nephews whose lives he brightened with his love and crazy antics. He was a valued cousin and friend, whose absence will leave an ache in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to have known him, and he will be greatly missed. Ferris had a strong work ethic and throughout his lifetime, he owned several businesses, worked in construction, and supported friends by working their stands at the West Side Market. He was also a dedicated fan of Cleveland sports, played softball for the Berea Jaycees, enjoyed going to casinos, and playing board or card games with his nieces and nephews. He loved going to the beach and living life to its fullest. One of his cherished pastimes was participating in the parades in the City of Berea, where he dressed as the Bumble from Rudolph, delighting fans and engaging in photos. In the past five years, Ferris faced a multitude of health challenges. Yet, time and again, he would pull himself up with an unwavering spirit and strength that inspired all around him, never expressing "why me?" He kept moving forward which was a testament to his character. Ferris had a deep, steady faith and a meaningful relationship with God and was ready to go home. In place of flowers, the family invites you to celebrate Ferris' beautiful spirit by; reaching out to mend and forgive any rifts with family or friends, offer a hand even if your own life is busy, treat your nieces to a meal at McDonald's, make someone laugh, or express affection towards others with a simple phone call. These simple acts of kindness reflected the very essence of who Ferris was and the love he brought to our lives. The family expresses gratitude and thankfulness to the Cleveland Clinic's Cardiac Staff, the LVAD Team, the ICU staff, and dedicated nurses for their support and kindness given to our brother, Ferris. The funeral will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 9th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, located at 250 Kraft St., Berea, OH. Prior to Mass, the family will receive loved ones and friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass begins at 11:30 a.m.
