Filemena Zapata Moreno of Plainview passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025. A funeral mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025 at the funeral home.
She was born on March 21, 1936 in Hondo, Texas to Antonio & Petra Zapata. She married Jose Moreno, Jr. in 1985.
She is survived by her husband Jose Moreno, Jr.; 5 daughters, Martha Ramos, Diana & Navor Ochoa, Esther & Joe Martinez, Rosalie & Oscar Longoria, Brenda & Joseph O'Mealia; 3 sons, Arturo & Liz Salas, Hector & Aurelia Salas and Albert Salas; one brother, Saturnino; 38 grandchildren, 99 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Zapata and Petra Benitez Zapata; one daughter, JoAnn Moreno; one son in law, Angel Ramos; 3 grandsons, Jacob Tijerina, Rene Ochoa II and Solano Benny Rodriguez; 3 sisters, Vicky Rendon, Antonia Del la Cruz and Sophia Velez; one brother, Jenaro Zapata.
