Finan Jack Doyle, 18, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 16, 2025 following a motorcycle accident.
Born April 18, 2007, to Jennifer and Declan Doyle, Finan grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Ben Davis High School in 2025. He was pursuing Aeronautical Engineering Technology at Purdue University, West Lafayette, and was a proud member of Purdue ROTC, aspiring to serve in the Air Force as a fighter pilot.
Finan is survived by his parents, Jennifer and Declan; his brother, Owen; beloved pets Luna and Cody; grandparents Dennis and Marilyn Doerr of Angola, Indiana, and Ken and Mary Doyle of Arklow, Ireland. Aunts and uncles include, Mike Doerr, Laura Hoard (Justin), Michelle Decker, Tom Doyle (Ailish), Lisa Smyth (Killian) and nine cousins.
A gifted athlete, Finan lettered in cross country, swimming, and track throughout high school, helping qualify his team to state after a 25-year absence. He graduated with academic and technical honors, ranking among the top 30 in his class, and was nationally ranked in Olympic-distance triathlon. At Purdue, he embraced new challenges, even joining the water ski club and competing in ski jump events with his trademark enthusiasm. He didn't land a single jump but had a blast trying.
Beyond athletics, Finan cherished friendships and adventures. From lifeguarding at Chapel Glen pool to renovating a school bus with friends for a spring break trip to Florida, he lived life with curiosity and joy.
Known for his free spirit, contagious smile, and unwavering positivity, Finan inspired others to live boldly and without fear. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
A Celebration of Life is planned for November 25, 6-9pm at Chapel Glen Clubhouse located at 640 Landsdowne Road, Indianapolis
