GREENSBORO —Fleta K. Boyd, 74, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Crystal Care Center in Crystal, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, with Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in Westminster Gardens.
Ms. Boyd was born in Greensboro, N.C., to the late Robert and Beulah Kindley Kirkman. She was a member of Zion Assembly Church of God. She worked at Jefferson Pilot for many years and later retired from Greensboro News and Record after more than 25 years of service. Ms. Boyd's life was centered around her children, grandchildren and church friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Schorr and her husband, Keith of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; son, Joe Steele and his wife, Julie of Old Fort, Tenn.; brother, Delbert Kirkman and his wife, Celia of Jamestown, N.C.; grandchildren, Krista and Joey Steele, Breanna, Erika, Nathan, and Landen Schorr; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.
