Flo Winfield Obituary
She was born on March 26, 1949 in Devils Lake, North Dakota to the late Benjamin and Alice Crommett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Crommett and sister Ruthie Crommett Coenen.
Flo attended Warwick Public School from 1st through 12th grade, graduating with honors in 1967. She later earned her bachelor's degree in education from Minot State University in 1971.
She was a dedicated employee of the VA Hospital for 36 years and was known for her unwavering commitment to helping others. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Flo leaves behind her husband, Gary Winfield; son, Danny Greissinger of Germantown, Tennessee; daughter, Holley Christenbury (Shawn) of Mooresville, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Hanna and Sara Akkad of Mooresville, North Carolina; two brothers, Rod Crommett of Michigan, North Dakota and Chuck Crommett (Diane) of Callaway, Minnesota and a host of special nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family would like to recognize the extraordinary role that Marchita played in making Flo's final days so warm and heart filled. Their seventy year bond as childhood friends and classmates was a rare and beautiful gift-one marked by unwavering care, loyalty, and love. Marchita remained by Flo's side through every step, caring for her faithfully until the very end.
The family is deeply grateful for the compassion to the staff and residents of Kirby Pines that were shown to Flo and the family.
A Memorial Mass for Flo will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 1:00pm at Kirby Pines Retirement Center.
Donations may be made to Madonna Learning Center in memory of Flo.
