Flora Mae Cole Williams was born June 09, 1933, to Eddie Mae Anthony and Dewitt Cole. On July 14th at 12:53 AM Flora heard the voice of God whisper and say, "Come Unto, Me and Rest". She went for a new life of peace and happiness.
Flora was married to James Beckum and to this union one daughter was born. She later married Louis Oscar Williams Sr. and to this union 9 children were born. She has one stepson, that she loved dearly.
Flora grew up in church as a child attending Bethlehem Baptist Church. She later joined Antioch Baptist church with her husband Louis and family. Later along with her husband and children they joined Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John H. Mathis where she served on the usher board and the church culinary ministry. She was known for her cooking of cakes, fried pies, butter rolls and always having an open chair at her dinner table. She fed the pastor the deacon and wives on many occasions doing her lifetime along with all her children and grandchildren friends. She attended public schools in Madison and Crockett County.
She leaves to cherish her memory. Six daughters Erma J Johnson, Jackson, Tennessee Frankie Adkisson, Yvette McLin, Patricia Williams, Joyce (Tim) Lawrence, all of Humboldt, Tennessee LaShun (Chris) Walters, Nashville, Tennessee. Five sons Terry (Frances) Hennings, Louis Williams Jr. Humboldt, Tennessee Lee (Yolanda) Williams Jackson, Tennessee Dwayne (Carolyn) Williams Valdosta, Georgia, Reggie Williams Nashville, Tennessee. Two Sisters Ruth (James) Hodges Ora (Mickerew) Kefale One brother Dewitt (Pearl) Cole all of Knoxville, Tennessee 23 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives. Two bonus sons Zedrick McLin, and Pastor Albert Simmons. Along with two close friends who were like sisters to her Melvie Gentry and Peggy Todd of Jackson, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband Louis Oscar Willimas Sr. Parents Eddie Mae (Charles) Strickland, Dewitt (Louise) Cole and four grandchildren, Derrick Williams, Shekita Williams, Rodney Williams, and Joshua McLin.
