Florance McEnaney Obituary

Florance "Flora" C. McEnaney

January 27, 1929 - February 10, 2025

QUEENSBURY - Florance C. McEnaney, 96, of Queensbury, NY, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital with her family by her side.

Flora was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, to Mary and Charles Robson. In her early 20s, she moved to the United States and began working in New York City. She later relocated to the Lake George area, where she enjoyed working at Glens Falls National Bank, holding various positions. Flora met and married James McEnaney, Sr., and together they owned and operated King Phillips Campground. Upon retirement, they spent winters in Stuart, Florida, where they built many lasting friendships, and summers in their beloved Lake George. They worked together on Glen Island, welcoming campers and running the island store. After that chapter ended, Flora greeted customers at The Sticky Buns on Beach Road, operated by The Fort William Henry.

Flora was predeceased by her husband, James; her parents; three sisters; two brothers; and her beloved grandson, Toby Murphy.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Dorris, and her family; her daughter, Lorine Archila, and her children, Melissa Watson (Franky) and Chance Archila of Alaska, and Jeremiah Murphy and great-grandson Lucas Murphy of Arizona. She is also survived by her stepson, James T. McEnaney Jr. (Susan) of Lake George, and their children, James McEnaney III (Amanda) of Saratoga, Kerry McEnaney of Boston, two great-granddaughters Raegan and Riley, and many McEnaney/Keane relatives.

Flora shared a lifelong friendship with her best friend, Marge Mannix. She took great pride in her Canadian heritage and is survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, including her special niece, Jan Moore.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jennifer Stratton of HHH, and the caretakers and staff at The Landing in Queensbury for their compassionate care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
