Florence Calabro went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on
October 1, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York to Mary and Philip Improte. She was a resident of Oceanside Nursing Care in Hampton, New Hampshire for the past two years.
Florence leaves behind her son Louis E. Calabro and his wife Nami Shin, her daughter Deborah Lou Calabro, her son Raymond Calabro and his wife Linda Gerson. Additionally, she will be missed by her granddaughter Laura Ann Teves, great-grandchildren, Jaeden Teves and Hannah Teves; and great-great-grandchildren, Eva Rose Teves and Roman Drew Teves.
Florence moved from Brooklyn to Somersworth New Hampshire in 1974 to be closer to her mother and her sister. She was predeceased by her sister Clara (Joseph) Malerba and Elisabeth (Michael) Muzio, as well as brothers Salvatore (Joanne) Improte and Fredrick Improte.
Florence grew strong in her Christian faith in her later years. She became a born-again Christian. She loved Jesus. The Bible was very important to her. Beside her spiritual life one of her favorite activities was spending time with her family. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling. She won many trophies in the Brooklyn leagues. In her later years, she enjoyed bingo, loved animals, and provided a home for many stray cats.
Florence will be missed by many people, especially her neighbors at Cocheco Park in Dover, New Hampshire, the staff at Oceanside Nursing Care in Hampton, New Hampshire, and the staff at Beacon Hospice in Portsmouth New Hampshire. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a source of comfort and strength for her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Wiggen-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Avenue, Dover, NH on June 9th, 2025, at 2:00 PM. If you would like to share time with family and friends, please arrive at 1:15 PM.
