Florence Leslie Fix

Florence Leslie Fix, 92, of West Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Florence was born on February 24, 1933, on the family farm in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie and Zora Wherry Ridenour. Florence graduated from Muscatine High School in 1951 and she married Donald Fix on June 17, 1951, at the New Era Lutheran Church in Muscatine.
Florence worked at the University of Iowa for 22 years. She passionately watched the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. She also farmed with her husband most of her life and when they were younger raised horses and went on many trail rides. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She loved fishing, playing cards, taking care of her flowers and garden and feeding the hummingbirds and orioles. She never met a stranger, no matter where she was she would take the time to visit with people.
Those left to honor her memory include three daughters, Vickie Adams of White City, Oregon, Vonda (Bill) Ruess of Jupiter, Florida, Vanessa (Steve) Riley of Palo, Iowa, one son, Vince (Renae) Fix of Nichols, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, Mike (Tawnia) Eddings, Nick (Christine) Eddings, Charissa (Ray) Popp, Casey (Kasey) Ruess, Charles (Angela) Ruess, Kelsi (Russell) Sheldrake, Cody (Laura) Ruess, Justin Riley, Jobe (Chelsey) Heick, Tanner Riley, Boston (Nicole) Riley, Mike (Theresa) Passmore, Shanda (David) Upton, and Dakota Fix; and 27 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald, one granddaughter, Bryton Riley; 2 brothers, Orville and Leslie Ridenour Jr. and 2 sisters, Audrey Garner and Andrea Wilson and son-in-law, Joe Adams.
A celebration of life will be held 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Christian Fellowship Church, 919 North Columbus St., West Liberty, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mailed to Henderson Barker Funeral Home, PO Box 46, West Liberty, Iowa 52776.
