This beautiful, lovely lady stole the show on Johnny Carson. I have heard stories of her. She was my husband's great aunt on the Spencer side. Which is his mother's dad's sister.
I wish I could've met her. I know she touched a lot of lives.

I just saw this wonderful 93 year old lady (in 1989) on Johnny Carson. It is a joy that she lived until one month after her hundredth birthday. One can only hope to live to be as healthy and verbal and charming as Florence was. She is a perfect example for everyone. She gives people hope.

I was delighted to see Miss Florence captivating us all on Johnny Carson in an episode from 1989. Her down to earth an no nonsense approach is admirable. What a generous spirit she had volunteering well into her 90’s. She certainly made the world a better place!

I just saw Flor ence on an old episode of Johnny Carson in 1989. What an amazing woman with a beautiful spirit and attitude about life and her care and concern for the well being of humanity. It's a shame she would not be able to do her job today in this crazy world especially with covid and the way the hospitals are today. it's amazing how many grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren she has to carry on her legacy God bless you all!

I just saw a rerun of her on Johnny Carson - Oh what an amazing, funny and beautiful soul she was and still IS! I kept hitting "replay" - as I just could not get enough of all that was recorded! She reminds me of my great-grandmother --- I am from Florence, Alabama ---- her name is Florence and I have cousins with the last name of Hodgins (not spelled exactly the same way) - but "Stars fell on Alabama last night" ---- I feel connected to Florence Hodges more than words can say!

Florence was my Great Grandmothers sister. Her name was May. I know that my Grandmother was an amazing person and could crochet up a storm. She was definitely a character just like Florence. I never met any of her siblings but I know we would have loved them all. My Great Geandmother lived to be 101 or 102 and I miss her to this day. Hopefully Florence and my Great-grandmother are together in heaven watching over all of us. My Geandmother lived to be a few weeks shy of her 100th birthday.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mrs. Hodges on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. A truly remarkable woman, the definition of kindness if there ever was one. If there is only one person in heaven, it will surely be Mrs. Hodges. May God bless and keep her safe.
