Florence Karczewski, age 97, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, in Palos Park, Illinois.
Florence was a devoted homemaker whose life centered around caring for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her greatest joy was time spent with her children and the generations that followed. Originally from the southwest side of Chicago, Florence was a longtime member of the St. Richard Catholic Women's Club, where she found friendship, faith, and community.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Karczewski, her son, Ronald Karczewski, and her sister Marcella Weber.
Florence is lovingly remembered by her children, Anthony Karczewski, Karen (Adam) Staron, and Kenneth (Carol) Karczewski. She was a cherished grandmother to Tammy (Brandon) Garnett, Eric (Tracie) Staron, Kenneth (Kristy) Karczewski, Valerie (Scott) Veldman, and Matthew (Gretchen Erickson) Karczewski. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Bailey, Averie, Shawn, Ian, Blake, Trey, Logan, and Isabella, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness. She is also survived by her brother in law David Weber, many friends and other family members.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 South Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park, Illinois.
Visitation will continue on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM until closing prayers at 10:00 AM, at the funeral home. A procession will then travel to St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church, 17500 South 84th Avenue, Tinley Park, Illinois 60487.
Interment will take place immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Vandenberg Funeral Home.
Florence will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her quiet strength, and the deep love she gave so freely to her family.
