McGee, Florence R. (Femia) died on January 5, 2026 at the age of 103. A life long resident of Arlington, she passed away peacefully at Aberjona Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Arlington and worked at the Arlington Town Hall from 1966 until she retired in 1985 and then she worked part time at the Town Hall until she was 97 years old. She was the Assistant Town Clerk of Arlington, belonged to Arlington Sons of Italy and Zonta International. She was the first woman Justice of the Peace in the State of Massachusetts.
Beloved wife of the late George B. McGee. She leaves her daughter Susan McGee Surgecoff of Peabody, her son George McGee of Fitchburg and her grandsons Louis Hunter and his wife Ebru of Huntington, NY and Michael Hunter of Los Angeles, CA as well as her granddaughter Tara Felder of Salem. She is also survived by her great grandson Ryatt Jammal of Los Angeles, CA, great granddaughter Starr Felder of Salem and her brother Lawrence Femia of Billerica. Loving sister of the late Francis Femia and the late Mary Shea and Dorothy Davidson. Daughter of the late James and Susan Femia.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit in the DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Mass. Ave., Arlington on Monday January 12th from 9:30 - 11:00 am and to her funeral home service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Florence to your favorite charity. Please visit devitofuneralhome.com to view an online guestbook.
