Florence Michaelis, 87, OF Biloxi, MS passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Michaelis was born in Brooklyn, NY. In 1956, she met her husband and after six months, they married and began their 69 year marriage, raising their four children in New Jersey. They relocated to Florida in 1991 and moved to Mississippi in 2023. Mrs. Michaelis was involved with the Zellwood Veteran’s Group. She enjoyed playing golf, traveling and working jigsaw puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Maury Morrissey; her son, Charles Lee Michaelis; and her daughters, Cheryl Lynn and Cynthia Leigh.
Mrs. Michaelis’ survivors include her husband, Lee Michaelis; her son, Christopher (Karlene) Michaelis; her grandchildren, Cassandra, Sean, Kirstie, Chelsea and Colin; and five great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 11:00 am.
