Florence Sieczkowski Obituary

Florence Therese (Farrell) Sieczkowski, 96, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. Flossie was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on November 11, 1928, the 11th and youngest child born to Daniel P. Farrell and Florence A (Withum) Farrell. After attending one year of college, she met the love of her life, James A. Sieczkowski (Ski) on a blind date. They married in 1949 and subsequently welcomed 11 babies of their own into their lives. Flossie was a woman of faith, with a great capacity for love. She loved God, her husband and her family. Also, she loved being with people, dancing, shopping, Christmas time, baking, looking through open houses, playing games, napping and a good back scratch. Flossie often said she was totally content to be a wife, mother and homemaker. It was her "job", to help raise her family. Each of us learned how to pray, how to do our chores well, how to play and have fun and become independent. Flossie, AKA Flo Baby, was widowed unexpectedly at age 60. She grew in self-reliance, tinged with bouts of heartache. She bought a cabin in Pine, Arizona, and briefly joined Sweet Adelines. She delivered Meals on Wheels, did some Clowning at care facilities and traveled. Later in life, she survived 2 hip replacement surgeries, Breast Cancer, and 5 consecutive strokes. Although her health ultimately failed her at age 96, her sense of humor and her smile endured a lifetime. We miss her to pieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years "Ski", daughters Rita Catherine and Mary Therese, and Son Christopher. She is survived by 4 daughters and 4 sons, 20 Grandchildren, 30 Great grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Visitation and Rosary will be held Thursday 17 July 2025 at Messinger Mortuary, Scottsdale from 6-9 PM. Friday, 18 July 2025 Service begins 9:45 AM Followed by Mass at 10AM at OLPH Catholic Church in Scottsdale. Reception Immediately following at Messinger, 11 AM -1PM. We live in Florence´s prior home in Phoenix. A few times she and a son drove by just to see the house again. One time she told me how happy to see another family with young kids to be living in the house. She sounds like an incredible woman.

All of us relatives have a role model in Flo´s love of each one of us. Her hugs , excitement in greeting us warmly, and sharing of her love of sweets. We had her presence a long time which I am grateful.
