F lorence Ann Stoll, age 87, of Bowerston, Ohio, and a former Virginia resident, went to be with her Lord and Savior early Monday morning, September 22, 2025 in the Sunnyslope Care Center at Bowerston.

She was born July 20, 1938 in Salem, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Thomas Montague and Alice Rosamond (Furrow) Donaldson. Her husband, the late Fred Stoll, whom she married in 1976, died in 2017. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Donaldson and Joey Donaldson, and a sister Margaret Majewski.

She was a Missionary doing God's Work for Hope Ministries for 25 years. She also sold shoes for Hofheimer's Fine Shoes in Virginia. Florence was a faithful member of the Good News Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. A very open individual, she loved to talk to people and could carry on a conversation with virtually anyone that she met. In the course of doing so, she would commonly offer up prayer to ease their troubles. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ann (Steve) Hicks of Kent, Washington, Debbie Drake and Mrs. Toni (Karl) Henry, both of Bowerston, a son, Michael "Mike" (Joan) Mercer of Chesapeake, Virginia, a sister, Gertrude Allen of Portsmouth, Virginia, 13 grandchildren and a large family of great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in the Leesville Cemetery with her son-in-law, Mr. Karl Henry officiating. Interment will follow services. A secondary Memorial Service honoring her life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 29, 2025 in the Good News Baptist Church, 3252 Taylor Road, Chesapeake, Virginia with Dr. Mike Ascher officiating. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville has been entrusted with arrangements. To leave an online condolence message please visit the funeral home website.
