Celebrating the life of Florence West

Florence West, age 83 of Springfield, VT, peacefully entered the gates of heaven on December 30, 2025. To know her was to know what it meant to be truly loved; she was a woman who saw the beauty in everything and shared that joy with everyone she met.

Born on October 17, 1942 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Bellows Falls, VT, Florence had a heart that knew no bounds. She had a rare gift for appreciating the world around her, whether it was the grace of a blooming flower, the brightness of a sunny morning or the simple music of a bird's song. She didn't just live life; she loved it, finding wonder in the small things that others might miss.

As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she was a constant source of light. She was the one you turned to for a kind word, a gentle laugh or a reminder of God's grace. She taught her family how to love without condition and how to find reasons to be grateful every single day. She had no hesitation of letting you know her life was a beautiful reflection of I Corinthians 13:13: "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

She was deeply loved by her husband, Dalton West Sr., her children: Gloria Gentes, Dalton West Jr. (deceased), Bonnie Newcomb, Deborah Howard, Lena Williams and Michael West; her adoring grandchildren and precious great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, along with her sister, Gloria Prokulewicz and cousin Louise Keyser, all of whom carry her spirit in their hearts.

She joins in eternal rest with her oldest son Dalton West Jr. and her parents: Florence and Raymond Simoneau, who preceded her in death.

No services are scheduled as her last wish was to have her ashes spread where she was born. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

We will forever remember her smile, her hugs and the way she loved everything and everyone deeply. We were all blessed just by knowing her and loving her.
