Florentina Rodrigues Of Central Falls passed away at the age of 71 on October 6, 2025, at The Miriam Hospital in Providence.
She was born in Madeira, Portugal on June 10, 1954, daughter of the late Luis R. Rodrigues and Conceicao Augusta da Graca. Florentina immigrated as a child from Portugal to Venezuela and in 1963 to the United States, settling in Central Falls. For several years, she worked as a machine operator for Conrad Jarvis.
Raised a Catholic, Ms. Rodrigues had a calm and strong faith. She was a sweet and friendly woman who was always looking out for other people, bringing water to her garbage men on hot days and talking with her mailman. Some of her passions in her free time were gardening, cooking and watching her soap operas. She never complained and truly enjoyed her life. Florentina will be greatly missed, and her memory will be greatly cherished.
Florentina Rodrigues is survived by her sisters, Margout De Faria and her husband Avelino of Central Falls, Maria Rodrigues of Central Falls, Mercardia Rodrigues of Portugal and Elsa Rodrigues of Portugal. She was the favorite aunt of several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Florentina is reunited with her brother, the late Luis M. Rodrigues.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Saturday October 11th from 9-11am in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home 151 Cross St. Central Falls. A funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 11am. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery 359 Dagget Ave. in Pawtucket.
