Florine Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Morton's Mortuary on Dec. 30, 2025.
Florine "Flo" E. Moore was born on May 21, 1975, on Long Island, New York, to Geraldine Moore and David Moore. Flo was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend-business-minded, sharp, witty, and deeply caring. She was the loving mother of her only child, Loreal Okediachi, who was truly the center of her world.
Flo grew up in the Bronx before later moving to England with her husband, Adrian Okediachi. She attended Julia Richmond High School, Kingsborough Community College, and Mercy College, where she earned her bachelor's degree with distinction. Flo spent many years in the corporate world, working across media, education, and government. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a forward-thinking, business-savvy woman who invested in rental real estate to build generational wealth for her daughter. Within her family, Flo was known as the accountant-the one who ensured investments were protected, credit was strong, and goals were met.
Flo enjoyed jazz, traveling with family and friends, weekends in Florida, 80s and 90s hip-hop, and old-school soca. She especially cherished time spent with her daughter Loreal, her mother, siblings, and her nieces and nephews. As a daughter and sister, Flo was a guiding force-someone her family leaned on for answers and direction. She often joked that "I handle business, and Angela handles the medical," a reflection of the close partnership she shared with her beloved older sister. Today, they are reunited in heaven.
As an aunt, Flo was a caregiver, a role model, and, to her niece Shinair, more like a big sister. She poured love and guidance into all of her nieces and nephews-Stanley, Mark, Justin, Ethan, Erynn, and Evan. As a friend, she was a motivator who encouraged those closest to her to pursue their dreams, no matter the obstacles. Though reserved by nature, Flo was often the life of the party among her close circle.
As a mother, Flo was Loreal's greatest supporter and best friend. She encouraged her daughter's independence, standing by her choices even when they disagreed, believing deeply in the value of life lessons. Together, they shared countless adventures-cruises to the Bahamas, ski weekends, camping trips, Memorial Day weekends in Newport, travel throughout New England, and vacations in Cancun. Their bond went beyond mother and daughter; they were true companions.
Those who knew Flo best knew her to be selfless. Even as her health declined, she remained positive and attentive, always asking about others and making sure everyone around her was okay. Flo leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and wisdom that will never be forgotten.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Geraldine and David Moore, and her sister Angela. She is survived by her beloved daughter Loreal Okediachi; her siblings Michael Moore, Earl Herbert Jr., and David Moore Jr.; her nieces and nephews Shinair, Stanley, Mark Jr., Justin, Laboo, Ethan, Erynn, and Evaan; her great-nieces Shariya, Sa'Niya, and Tamya; her cherished cousin Jennifer; and a large, loving extended family.
Though her remarkable life was cut short, we thank God for the time we shared with Flo and pray that she rests in eternal peace.

I had the privilege of working with Flo at Red River. She was always upbeat, encouraging, and genuinely interested in the lives of those around her. Anyone would be lucky to have her in their corner. Flo adored "the kid," as she'd say, and delighted in sharing stories of both their big moments and the simple everyday ones. Wishing Flo's family and friends solace in the sweet memories she leaves behind
