Flossie Wilson Hensley, age 83, of Swiss, went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 8th, 2023 at The Greens in Spruce Pine. A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Roth and Ina Hensley Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Hensley, who passed away in 2011; and her brother, Roy Wilson, who passed away in 2016.
Flossie was a member of Elk Shoal Baptist Church. She loved gardening, working in her yard, and with her flowers.
Surviving are her sons: Ray Hensley and wife, Elisabeth, of Weaverville and Mack Hensley and wife, Jill, of Burnsville; sister, Jackie Arrowood and husband, Rodney, of Weaverville; grandchildren: Jessica Tipton (Mark), Megan Hunter (Adam), Eric Hensley, Mack Hensley (Tanna), Taylor Hensley (Dalton), Bryan Peterson, and Christy Greathouse; great-grandchildren: Bryson, Gavin, Jordan, Gracie, Lincoln, Madeline, Alexis, Paige, and Rayne; a special niece, Tammy Kindle, along with her children: Trenton, Aiden, and Colton; and a special nephew, Bobby Arrowood (Vickie). Several other extended family members also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Stacey Elkins will officiate. Private burial will be in the Lower English Cemetery at Wolf Laurel.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at The Greens in Spruce Pine for the wonderful care given to Flossie. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter at PO Box 601444, Charlotte, NC 28260-1444.
