With love and remembrance, we announce the passing of Floyd Borak, of El Campo, TX. He was born on November 12, 1951, in Louise, TX to the late Leo W. Borak, Sr. and Evelyn Staff Borak.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Rose Stastny Borak, son Timothy Borak and wife Ryann of Richmond, TX, brothers Leo W. Borak, Jr. and wife Ruby of Bay City, TX, Felton Borak and wife Mae of El Campo, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Kathryn Zeischang, Larry Borak, and Jimmy Borak, Sr.
Floyd was born and raised in Louise, TX. He graduated from Louise High School in 1970. He then served in the Texas Army National Guard. Floyd married Rose in 1975 and welcomed their son, Timothy, in 1979.
Floyd worked for Mustang as a diesel mechanic for 33 years before retiring. He also ran his own business, Borak's Sandblasting and Painting. Floyd was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. His hobbies and interests included cooking, fishing, woodworking, watching John Wayne movies, and traveling across the country visiting national parks with his family. Later, Floyd became a master home gardener and loved sharing his abundance of fruits and vegetables with family and friends. He also cherished each moment with his grand dog Cinder and his pet turtle Nickey.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 9:00 AM at St. Philip Catholic Church followed by a KC rosary at 9:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Dalton Ervin officiating. Burial with military honors will be under the auspices of American Legion Post 251 at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Adams, Danny Borak, Felton Borak, Jr., Daryl Popp, John Stastny, and Michael Stastny.
Memorials in his memory may be made to Wharton County SPOT.
