Floyd Cowan "Poochie" Coppage, 82, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Floyd was born December 31, 1941 in Stanford, Kentucky to the late Warren and Rilda (Whited) Coppage.
Floyd, known as "Poochie" by those who knew him best, had a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was an active member and deacon at the Separate Baptist Church in Greenwood, Indiana. He had a passion for music and sang in several Gospel groups, including Gospel New Lights, The Happy Aires, and The Coppage Family. In addition to singing his favorite hymns, Floyd could often be found bowling, one of his favorite activities.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Louise (Baskerville) Coppage; children, Rebecca Stines (Stafford), Richard "Joe" Coppage (Virginia), and Floyd "Kenneth" Coppage; grandchildren, Joseph Coppage, Janelle Turley (Jason), Justin Coppage (Megan), Jaron Coppage, Erin Henry (Austin), Adam Lawson (Kayla), and Kaitlyn Stines; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Delena Gregory (Gene), Estelle Vibbert, Delton Coppage (Joan), Susie Allen (Johnny), and James "Dobbie" Coppage; 3 aunts, an uncle, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation ~ Whiteland Chapel followed by a funeral service on Saturday, September 28th, at 1:00pm with visitation starting at 11:00am. Floyd will be laid to rest at Rocklane Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.
