Harry Gordon Rice Jr passed away on January 23rd, 2026, following a courageous battle with heart disease, Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and COPD.

He was born on March 5th, 1969, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He is the son of Harry G. Rice SR and Dianne K. (Bentley) Rice.

Harry was a graduate of George Washington High School. He married the love of his life, Nancy Rigney, in 1992, and together they enjoyed 34 years of unending love and companionship. Harry worked hard as a baker, warehouse supervisor, and team leader of the seafood department at Kroger. Harry always developed caring friendships at work. He would help out coworkers in any way he could. He would often listen to friends and coworkers and find thoughtful ways to help them out.

Harry enjoyed spending time with family, playing online games, watching movies, listening to music, and grilling.

Those left to cherish Harry's memory include his loving wife Nancy Rice, and three children Shirley Rice, Katherine Rice, and Harrison Rice; one grandson Malcolm Taylor; two sisters Lori (Terry ) Mangrum and Pamela Madden; Father in-law Lloyd Rigney, Sister-in-law Debra Rigney, Brothers-in-law Robert (Dee) Rigney, and Mike Rigney; Several aunts and uncles, lots of nephews and nieces, & great nephews and nieces.

Harry was preceded in death by His Father and Mother, a brother, David Edward Plemmons, and his mother-in-law, Vickie Rigney.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday February 13 at 6:00 pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

3701 Roberta Street, New Castle, IN 47362. A light dinner will follow. There are currently no plans for a graveside service.
