Funeral services for Floyd Duard "Pete" Grimes, age 82 of Seagoville, Texas will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the Seagoville Church of Christ with Bro. Lonnie Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Seagoville under the direction of Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Floyd Duard "Pete" Grimes was born on November 30, 1928 in Combine, Texas a son of the late Emmitt Dalton and Leona McCloskey Grimes and passed away on January 16, 2011 in Seagoville. Pete was married to Mary Alice Dickerson for over 60 years and served his country in the US Army from 1948 until 1950 during the Korean Conflict . He is preceded in death by his parents, a baby sister Mildred Grimes and a Brother Emmitt Luther “Cotton� Grimes. He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, fishing and raising horses and cattle on a small ranch in Combine. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Alice Grimes of Seagoville, Daughter, Judith Dalton of Seagoville, Son, Michael Grimes of Seagoville, grandchildren Joshua Grimes of Seagoville and Alisa Dalton Bogle of Seagoville, great-grandchildren Gracye and Luke Bogle, sister, Alice Grimes Mathis of Seagoville and brother Jack R. Grimes of Dallas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives.
