Floyd Hagan Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 2, 2023.
Floyd Charles "Chuck" Hagan, III, 68, retired Emergency Manager, Fireman/Paramedic, Executive Chef, and beloved Husband, Father, and friend passed away at his home in Tallahassee, Florida on October 27, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with multiple health issues.
Born in Los Angeles, California on April 14, 1955, Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Louise Hagan, and father, Floyd Charles Hagan, II. Chuck is survived by his wife, Karen Hagan, and daughters, Shannon and Rebecca, who will miss him dearly.
Chuck was a true renaissance man who gave his all to his family, his work, and his home. He proudly served as a Navy Corpsman, and went on to serve Los Angeles County as a Fireman and Paramedic. After injuring his back in the line of duty, Chuck became an Executive Chef and owned a successful catering business in California. Always with a servant's heart, Chuck joined the American Red Cross, working first in Biomedical Services, then Disaster Services for many years. It was with the American Red Cross that Chuck met his wife, Karen, of 32 years. Chuck went on to become the Logistics Chief for the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management, where he served for 16 years before retiring in 2018. Post retirement, Chuck opened his own consulting firm 5PL Disaster Consulting, LLC.
Chuck loved his family and always made sure they were cared for and prepared for emergencies. He enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming, photography, cooking, and history. Friends and family will fondly remember his gatherings of exquisite food, laughter, and so much love.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal service will be held. The family will host a private celebration of life at a later date. Remembrances can be shared at https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/tallahassee-fl/floyd-hagan-iii-11514735 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to No Kid Hungry, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating childhood food insecurity.
