Floyd Hayward Jr.

WESTFORD -- Floyd "Bud" Hayward, Jr. age 82, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Marie (DiFiore) Hayward and the late Joan (Saraceno) Hayward who passed away on January 13, 2010. He was born in Centerview, MO on November 13, 1931, a son of the late Floyd Hayward, Sr. and Grace Elizabeth (Crew) Hayward. Bud was a resident of Westford since 1961 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was a member of Teamsters Local 25 for many years. Bud was a member of the Cameron Senior Center in Westford and was a proud supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Red Sox. Besides his wife Marie, he is survived by his three daughters, Karen Shry and her husband, Jim of Cortez CO, Debra Warwick and her husband, Tedd of Pepperell, Kelley Holston and her husband, Michael of Westford; four grandchildren, Greg Prescott, Mike Prescott, Kevin Holston, and Lyndsey Holston; one great-grandson, Johnathan Prescott; a brother, Ralph Hayward and his wife Karen of Missouri; three step-children, Linda Berube and her husband, Stephen of Lunenburg, Susan Brunsen and her husband, Kenneth of Nashua and Steven Lawrence and his wife, Nancy of Westford; four step-grandchildren, Dennis and Eric Berube, Stephanie Crosby and her husband, Kevin, and Michael Lawrence; also many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was the father of the late Kevin Hayward and brother of the late Robert Hayward and Beaulah Reece. A private funeral service will be held at J.A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME on Monday, March 17, 2014 with interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford, MA.
