Floyd C. Kermen

Floyd C. Kermen 76, of Chepachet, R.I. passed away peacefully Feb. 6, 2022, surrounded by his loving children. Floyd C. Kermen was born in Spokane, Wa. to Mary E. (Richardson) Chestnut and Floyd C. Chestnut. He was the husband of the late Doris (Richard) Kermen and is survived by his daughter Kris Petersen, her husband Greg and their son Paul, as well as his daughter Nadine Paolantonio and her three children Richard Gobern III, Teyarra Kermen, and Victoria Kermen, and his son Brent Kermen, his wife Tara and their two sons Aiden and Preston Kermen. Floyd also leaves behind his six beautiful great-grandchildren. Floyd, known to many as Chris, loved to hunt, fish, and play sports as a young boy in Washington State. He graduated from Gonzaga Prep High School before enlisting in the Navy and serving his country as a Vietnam veteran. Before being shipped out to Antarctica he was stationed at Quonset Point where he met the love of his life, Doris Richard. They were married 39 loving years. Floyd will be forever remembered for his generosity, his tremendous sense of humor, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He was very proud to be a Teamster, softball coach and treasurer of the North Providence Little League and known far and wide as a basketball referee. He was loved by all. Funeral services are private. Donations in his memory can be made to Hope Health Hospice.
