Floyd William Leaver "Frogman", 96 of Sioux City, Iowa died on Friday, August 15, 2025, in Sioux City, Iowa.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel with Pastor Neil Peck officiating, located at 1801 Morningside Ave. Sioux City, Iowa 51106. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, Iowa.

Floyd was born June 22, 1929, in Wolsey, South Dakota, to Jesse and Emma Schmidt Leaver. He attended McKinley Elementary in Wolsey. He married Lavonne Rude on October 6, 1950, in Huron, SD. The couple had four children Danny, Bruce, Barbara and Dean. Floyd was drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict and served from 1951 until 1953 and was honorably discharged. After returning home they moved to Sioux City where he worked for Armour Star, Nutra Flo and Siouxland Scale before retiring in 1998.
His hobbies were driving his stock car # 24 in South Sioux City and Alta, he enjoyed tinkering in his garage, cutting wood and going fishing with his buddy Gary Greves.
Floyd was a longtime member of the Legion Riders and American Legion Post 64
Surviving are daughter, Barbara Lensink, son Dean Leaver, 6 grandchildren, Leann, Mike, Christy, Jason, Kim and Billie, 10 great grandchildren, 15, great greatgrandchildren,
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife LaVonne, two sons Danny and Bruce and 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
