Floyd Maxwell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was born on June 3, 1938, in Arkansas and peacefully left this world on January 17, 2026, in Southaven, Mississippi. He was known for his trustworthy nature and quiet strength, embodying the qualities of a wonderful person throughout his life.
For 45 wonderful years, Floyd shared a deep and abiding love with his wife, Linda Maxwell. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with cherished memories and adventures across the globe. They were inseparable, enjoying every moment side by side. Their travels were only rivaled by their shared joy in tending to their garden, a place where they nurtured not only plants but also their love for each other.
Floyd was a devoted father to his children—Kathy McCraw, Carol Christ, Cindy White, Susan Grimes, and Patti Doole. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather, pouring love and wisdom into his 12 grandchildren and many beloved great-grandkids, who were undoubtedly among his proudest accomplishments.
Family meant everything to Floyd. He was not only a loving husband and grandfather but also a caring brother to Charles Maxwell. Though he faced the loss of his parents, Bill Martin and Willie Mae Maxwell, and his sister, Jonnie Morton, he remained a pillar of strength and support for his family.
As a respected professional in real estate, Floyd excelled in his career, earning the admiration of many. Yet, it was his personal relationships—infused with kindness and honesty—that defined him. Friends and family alike will remember him as a good person who never told a lie, someone who brought warmth and joy into the lives of those around him.
A Celebration of Life for Floyd Maxwell will be held on January 23, 2026, at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, Mississippi. The service will begin at 3:00 PM and conclude at 5:00 PM, providing a time for loved ones to gather and share in cherished stories of a remarkable man.
Floyd leaves behind a legacy woven with love, loyalty, and laughter, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of his family and friends.
