Mrs. Francine Bryce and Family
Dear Mrs. Bryce and Rev. Dr. Floyd A. Miles Family Members:
On behalf of For The People MOS Inc., and the Southeast Community Day Planning Committee, we offer our condolences to you and the members of your family. Rev. Dr. Floyd A. Miles will be truly missed, his contributions in the community, and to family.
I had many wonderful opportunities to fellowship with "Pastor Miles" on numerous occasions along with your family members. Pastor Miles would often travel as Co-Host of the Andrew Shannon Gospel Music Celebration to Atlanta, Georgia (West Hunter Street Baptist Church); Wilmington, North Carolina (Myrtle Grove First Born Holiness Church and Union Missionary Baptist Church); and throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Pastor Miles loved GOD, his family, music, the GMWA Choirs (Richmond, Petersburg, Atlanta, and Tidewater); and the community. Pastor Miles was instrumental in serving as Worship Leader to set the tone and atmosphere during the visits of many prominent national, state and local leaders, as well as, national recording artists. Pastor Miles was also a freedom fighter, who believed in prayer, civil rights and social justice. The freedom fighter, Pastor Miles was truly deeply rooted in civil rights, justice, and liberty for all. Pastor Miles was very instrumental as a supporter of in assisting the Virginia State Unit of the SCLC, the organization founded by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as well as For The People MOS Inc. with several events, and me including the Andrew Shannon Feeding 5000TM; and Southeast Community Day Parade and Festival. I would be remised if I did not state for the record that Pastor Miles was a wonderful "Celebrity Server" for FEEDING 5000. Today, we have served over 200,000 meals. Pastor Miles treated everyone with dignity and respect and he was greatly appreciated and admired by many.
Pastor Miles loved his family, enjoyed being together among friends, and he loved GOD. We also know that God loved Rev. Dr. Floyd A. Miles and GOD called his faithful servant Rev. Dr. Floyd A. Miles home to celebrate! It is my belief that GOD placed a call to a freedom fighter to come, and Floyd A. Miles answered that call to action to come home from labor to reward!! May GOD continue to keep you and your family strong and provide comfort during this time of reflection.
Sincerely,
Andrew Shannon

I met Mr Miles when he was director of transportation for Chesterfield county. We developed a father daughter relationship
He was very kind and always kept me laughing. Whenever or was time to repermand ,me he could never do it. We would be in his office laughing and he would always tell me to leave his office looking sad like he fused at me then would call me to ask if I was ok. He would end by saying I'm going to pray for u. Everyone we would run into one another he would ask me if I was ok and to stay out of trouble. I will truly miss you. Continue to look down on me.
