Floyd Everett Page, age 89 of Merkel, Texas, passed away at Hendrick Hospital South on Friday, January 23, 2026. A visitation will be held at Fry-Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, January 31 from 5-7pm. A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 1 at Midway Cemetery in Goldsboro, Texas at 2:00pm.

Floyd was born on March 21, 1936 in Novice, Texas to Maud Pendly Page and Will Page. Floyd grew up in Novice going to school there and playing sports for the Hornets. He was saved and baptized in the Baptist Church as a young man. Later he joined the National Guard serving seven years along with his good friend Charles Stephens.

While attending school, he met and then married Patsy McCaffety on March 9, 1957. Moving to Merkel, they spent their entire married life of 68 years there.

Floyd was in the oil business, holding several positions over his 65 years of working. He started in the business when he was in high school and retired in 2019 at the age of 83. He met many good friends during those years, still keeping in touch with some of them.

Floyd loved to play dominos. He played all over the country with different people, the last few years at Hodges. He liked playing at Finley Barnetts with Danny Malone, Philip Pursley, Dick Griffith, and Finley.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy of 68 years, his parents, two brothers, and two infant sisters.

He is survived by daughters Becky Wedin and husband Mike and Connie Roark and husband Bill, grandchildren Page Dickerson and husband Cody, Austin Wedin and wife Laura, Chelsea DeMent and husband Clayton, and Logan Wedin, and great-grandchildren Cason, Colton, Callie Mae, Shyla, Bristol, and Alana, and numerous nieces, nephews, and family friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Floyd's honor to the Midway Cemetery Fund in care of Glen Samson at P.O. Box 206 in Lawn, Texas 79530 or to the First Baptist Church Tuscola Transportation Fund at P.O. Box 35 in Tuscola, Texas.
