October 15, 1940 - May 26, 2022
Floyd Leonard Toney, 81, went home to be with his Lord Thursday night, May 26, 2022 at Village Care of King.
Floyd was born in Rutherford County, NC on October 15, 1940 to the late Wilkie and Bertha Campbell Toney. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was retired from Westinghouse with 35 years of service. Floyd loved to spend time with his family, fishing and listening to music. Mr. Toney served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents, Floyd is preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Murray, and brothers, Dewey, Carl and Larry Toney.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Helton Toney; son, Eric Toney and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Katelyn, Kyle, Kelli, Isaac and Carter Toney, and sisters, Maude Towery and Mary Jones.
There will be a 1 p.m. funeral service held on Monday, May 30, 2022 at the Burroughs Chapel with Pastor Gerald Jones officiating. Burial will follow at 5:30 p.m. at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, 5083 Bostic Sunshine Hwy., Bostic, NC 28018.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Burroughs Funeral Home, and other times at his home.
Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church c/o Joey Stewart, 2626 Piney Mtn. Road, Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
