He was an elder of Reidsville Christian Church and very active in the community including the Chamber of Commerce and the Boy Scouts of America. He remained in Reidsville until after Patsymae's death in 2006.

October 7, 2023

I met Floyd around 2006. He was one of the original signers forming the Marine Corps League# 1232 in Rockingham County NC Always a card and cheerful. He was a strong NRA supporter and avid hunter. His ill-fated run for County Commissioner never hampered his devotion to duty. Neither his affection for his beloved Judy. Since leaving NC we have communicated for years via E mail. I will sorely miss his presence and smile. Marine Chet Chrismon Past Commandant
