With heavy hearts and abundant memories, we bid farewell to our beloved Forrest William Gallegos, who passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025. Born on March 8, 1993, in Alamosa, Colorado, Forrest will always be remembered for his infectious smile, hearty laughter, and kind spirit.
Forrest was a true people person, known for his warmth and generosity. He thrived on sharing joy - whether he was belting out his favorite tunes at karaoke, playing his beloved harmonica, or working his magic in the kitchen at Village Pub in Saguache. He found great joy in teaching kids the art of pizza-making, always encouraging them to express their creativity. Music and nature were his true loves, and he embraced every moment spent outdoors.
Forrest is survived by his mother, Barbara Martinez-Gallegos, father, Eric Gallegos, brother, Warren Gallegos, sister-in-law, Brooke Gallegos, and his cherished nephews, Zachary and Caleb Gallegos as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends. He created lasting memories with those he loved, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents, Mary Ann and William Francis Gallegos, his maternal grandparents, Cornelia Margaret and Jose Benito Martinez, his uncles, Charles Burt Martinez, Damian Lorenzo Martinez and Gregorio Duran, his nephew Aaden Warren Gallegos and his cousins, Marcie Quintana, Alexis Duran, Mia Sosa, Timothy Soto and Christine Smith.
Cremation selected and a Celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday February 1, 2025 at the Mountain Valley School in Saguache. The service will also be streamed on the funeral homes website.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage everyone to share a favorite meal or help someone in need, just as Forrest would have done. Together, let's keep his memory alive by spreading kindness and joy in his honor. Rest in peace, Forrest - your laughter will echo in our hearts forever as well as the occasional "oh gosh".
