It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Forrest Nolan
Welmaker, Jr., who left us on March 29, 2024, at the age of 61.
Forrest was born on July 30, 1962, to Forrest N. Welmaker and Elizabeth A.
Skillen in San Antonio, Texas. Throughout his life, there was no shortage of
laughter and love for close friends and family, and he touched the lives of so
many he encountered.
In 1997 and 2000, Forrest's two daughters, Annaliese "Anie" Welmaker and
Emmerie Welmaker came into the world with Denise (Gilbert) Welmaker. Anie
and Emmerie were his pride and joy, as photos of them filled his office and
home.
Professionally, Forrest was accomplished and Board Certified in Personal
Injury Trial Law. His dedication and commitment to his work was made
evident through his long-standing law office, Welmaker Law Firm. Forrest was
supported by a devoted and talented office staff team, some of them working
with him for nearly two decades prior to his passing. He received his B.B.A
from Southwestern University in 1984, his J.D. from St. Mary's University in
1989, and his License to
Practice the same year. His family is deeply grateful for Liz, JoEllen, Tina,
Blanca, Pat, Lupe,
Donna, Noni, Lourdes, Letty, and Roseanne- his present and past staff that
supported his career.
Forrest cherished spending time and making memories with his loved ones
and friends. He found joy in traveling and the entertainments of San Antonio,
regularly attending events at Club Giraud and riding his e-bike around King
William. While at his home, you could find Forrest feeding his chickens,
working in the garden, or swimming in the pool. His humor and free spirit will
be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving children Annaliese "Anie" Martens (Jeremy) and
Emmerie
Welmaker; siblings Mary Elizabeth Young (Mike), Byron Welmaker, and Suzy
O'Connell Lamont; Uncle Byron Skillen; dear friend Patti Stewart; and
numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Forrest N.
Welmaker and Elizabeth "Betsy" Welmaker O'Connell.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Texas Access to Justice
Foundation or A Living Tribute (plant a tree for Forrest) in his honor. Though
he may be gone from our sight, the memories we have shared with Forrest
Nolan Welmaker, Jr. will forever remain in our hearts.
