Foster Wayne Godwin of Fort Smith, Arkansas, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on July 2, 1941, in Charleston, Arkansas, to the late Iran Foster Godwin and Hazel Fabrus (Law) Godwin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roger Dale Godwin and Iran Law Godwin.

Foster was a 1960 graduate of County Line High School, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired delivery driver for UPS, enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and when he was able, he attended Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Charleston. He loved his family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 22nd at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Bro. Bill Wise officiating. Burial will follow at Caulksville Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his daughters, Laura Godwin and her husband Benjamin Poteet of Nashville, Tennessee, and Kenleigh Godwin and her husband Dalton Bettencourt of Little Rock, Arkansas; his stepson, Blake Kukar of Somerville, Tennessee; his sister, Vickie Wright and husband Roy of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and his brother, James Godwin of Macon, Georgia.

Pallbearers are Laura Godwin, Ben Poteet, Kenleigh Godwin, Dalton Bettencourt, Vickie Wright, and Roy Wright.
