Foye Johnson

Foye Kay Johnson, 79, of Pettigrew; passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his home. He was born Wednesday, May 31, 1944, at Boston; to Edward Otto and Ruby Alice Silvis Johnson.
Foye married Donna Louise Barnett Johnson on Thursday, June 10, 1965, at Huntsville and together they were parents to two children. He was a farmer and a member of New Home Church of Christ and the New Home Quartet. As an avid hunter, fisherman, and horseback rider, Foye loved being in the great outdoors. Family, friends, and neighbors enjoyed sharing meals with him and he was very active in the community.
Foye was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ruby Johnson; one brother, Jean Johnson; two sisters, June Bennett and Fonda Callaway; and one son-in-law, Barry Smith. He is survived by his wife, Donna Louise Johnson; of the home; one daughter, Melissa Smith, of Pettigrew; one son and daughter-in-law: Stacy and Angie Johnson, of Forum; six grandchildren, Trista Smith and Brian Phillips, Kyle Smith and Kiona Bailey, Kaylea Johnson and Devon Carroll, Breanna Johnson, Stephanie and Preston Christian, and Michael Johnson and Shania Lough; and eight great-grandchildren, Amery Phillips, Austin Phillips, Joshua Hutchins, Sylas Johnson, Syris Johnson, Shane Johnson, Lillie Hutchins, and Areeona Jones.
The family will receive friends 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Brashears Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 6, 2023, at New Home Cemetery with TJ Bennett officiating. Pallbearers will be Kyle Smith, Brian Phillips, Michael Howard Johnson, Devon Carroll, Shawn Smith, and Herbie Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Amery Phillips, Austin Phillips, Joshua Hutchins, Sylas Johnson, Syris Johnson, Shane Johnson; as well as his nephews, and great-nephews. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
