Frances J. Abraham passed away at the Riverglen House on Saturday, September 6. She was born on May 11, 1937, the daughter of Joseph and Frances Silvestri (Porpora).
Frances was raised in Brooklyn, New York, on her family’s compound near the coast of Sheepshead Bay. She was educated locally before moving to New Hampshire following her junior year of high school. After settling in New England, she worked at Genest Bakery until she began raising her family, a role she cherished above all else. Once her children were grown, she began working at Raytheon.
Living a full and fun life, Frances was known to enjoy a wide range of hobbies that reflected her creativity, including cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and cooking. You could find her dancing, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends, always bringing warmth and laughter to those around her.
She is predeceased by her husband, Robert, her three sisters, Marie, Jeanie, and Lillian, as well as her brother, Anthony.
Frances is survived by her son, Robert Abraham and his wife, Lynn of Lincoln, NH, daughter, Patricia Murray and her husband, Bryan of Meredith, NH, her grandchildren, Laura Murray and her partner, Judith Leitch of Sacramento, CA, Joseph Abraham and his wife, Dorothy of Fletcher, VT, and Jillian Abraham and her husband, Asa Twombley of Roxbury, VT. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Azre, Frankie, and Lily.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff and residents of Riverglen House for making Frances’ final days so special and filled with love and care.
A graveside service is to be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on Monday, September 22 beginning at noon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Frances’ memory to St. Jude’s’s Children Research Hospital or Wounded Warriors.
