Frances Bocook Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel - Monrovia on Mar. 24, 2025.
Frances Elaine Bocook, departed from this world after her body grew tired at the age of 79, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, while in the care of Franciscan St. Francis Hospital South Campus, in Indianapolis. She was born on April 24, 1945, in Greencastle, Indiana.
Adopted at the tender age of three after her father passed away, Frances graduated from Stilesville High School, where she married a young man from Fillmore, Charles "Shug" Tincher. Blessed with four beautiful daughters: Sherry, Charla, Sheila, and Christa over a span of sixteen-years, Fran and Shug decided to part from the union after 26 years. Spreading her wings and starting over, Fran migrated down to Florida, where she was able to experience multiple chapters of marital bliss over the years before returning home to Indiana. She retired from Brightpoint in Plainfield.
A small statured woman with a fine-tuned appearance, Fran took pride in her looks and keeping her possessions nice. Decorating nearly everything, she drove a purple HHR that had flames on each side and little balls that she pinned on the inside. A clean freak with pack-rat tendencies, she had an eye for interior design. Each wall was different and tastefully coordinated throughout her home. A creature of habit, she had a specific routine for getting herself ready to go out and she was always put together. She collected vintage figurines and windmills. A personable person, she loved to socialize and had a large and loving circle of lifelong cherished friends. Her guilty pleasures included losing track of time on shopping sprees at Goodwill, Meijer, and Walmart. She was notorious for finding treasures and when the girls told her they needed something, she went straight for the hunt. She was creative, fun and always stylish. In addition, she loved her flowers, gardening, and dancing. A beloved mother and grandma, Fran rocked all of the buckle and miss me jeans and she really loved cats. With the sharpest of minds, she was the master of her own universe, and her faith was the secret that kept her soul and spirit bright. Fran's love and memory will live in the hearts of those who were blessed to share in her journey.
Along with her biological and adoptive parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Maxwell; former spouse, Rocky Phillips; and her beloved feline companion named Whiskas who lived to be 20 years old.
Survivors include her daughters, Charla Elmore (husband, Tim) of Stilesville, Sheila Owens (husband, Bill) of Mooresville, and Christa Tincher of Monrovia; former son-in-law, David Maxwell of Monrovia; ten grandchildren, David, Amber, Alicia, Natasha, Alyssa, Cameron, Makayla, Damon, Devon, and Dillon; 6 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
Friends and family are invited to gather and Celebrate Fran's life at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, with visitation held from 4:00 until the Celebration of Life Service at 7:00pm.
