Frances Cattanach - daughter, sister, cousin, wife, aunt and friend to many - passed peacefully in her sleep, in the early hours of Monday, October 6. Believed to have went to be with her husband, Jimmy, who passed exactly 35yrs earlier on October 5, 1990.
She was born in Jessup, PA on January 8, 1935 to her Mother, Anna Green. She moved to Green Point, Brooklyn when she was 11yrs of age with her mother who had married a Frank Jover, who later adopted her as his own daughter when she was 18yrs old. She was the older sister to her brother, James Jover (predeceased in 2001). Would drive to PA a few times a year with her younger brother to see their cousins, whom she grew up with. Always said Cousin Betty was her sister. She loved them all and spoke with Betty every week.
When she turned 18 she started working at Con-Edison. She worked 40 years there up until her retirement in 1993. She met her dear, loving husband James Cattanach, while at work. Some might just say she caught the bosses eye. They married in 1971 and went on many trips together. Traveled the world by cruise and enjoyed each others company.
Frances never met a baby she didn't want to hug. She adored her nephew & niece, as well as her great nephew & nieces.
She knew every celebrity and she knew their children. She was a proud member of the coffee/tea club of the NewsBar, on University Place. She would participate in every holiday that they celebrated and courtesy of the best neighbor, Jim, dressed as appropriately as possible. She has been The Statue of Liberty, a huge Easter Bunny, Santa and many more.
