CHAMBERS, Frances "Fran" Kay (Witt) – of Davison, MI, age 80, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, with her family at her bedside. Per Fran's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Private inurnment in Great Lakes National Cemetery on a later date.
Fran was born in Flint, MI on March 1, 1945, daughter of the late Dale and Genevieve (Stadlman) Witt. Fran married the love of her life, Ronald Chambers, on November 2, 1968, at First Presbyterian Church in Flint, where they built a life together filled with joy, companionship, and unwavering support for one another. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of love, and their bond remained strong for decades. Fran was a no-nonsense, hardworking woman who dedicated herself wholeheartedly to everything she did. Whether at home, in the garden, or at work, she gave her best, demonstrating an incredible work ethic and an unmatched sense of responsibility. She took great pride in her family, and her love for them was evident. A passionate gardener, Fran loved flowers and grew vegetables with care and dedication. Her garden was not just a place to nurture plants but a space where she found peace and joy, surrounded by the beauty she so lovingly cultivated. In addition to her love for nature, Fran had a creative spirit. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crafting, always making things with her hands that brought comfort and beauty to those around her. Her leisure time was spent camping and boating, where she relished the outdoors and the serenity that nature provided. Fran had a long and distinguished career as a registered nurse, retiring after 29 years of service at Ascension Genesys Hospital. She touched countless lives throughout her career, offering compassion and care to those in need. Her dedication to her patients and her profession earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Fran's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was a woman of great strength, warmth, and kindness, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
Fran leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Ronald Chambers; son, Ronald Chambers, Jr.; daughter, Holly (John) Heim of Lakewood Ranch, FL; 3 granddaughters, Olivia, twins, Scarlett and Sloan; grandson, Cooper; sister-in-law, Barb Bach; several nieces; 1 nephew; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Genevieve Witt; 2 brothers, Jerald Witt and Thomas Witt.

I met Fran at the St. John's Prayer Shawl group in Davison.
We spoke of many things having nursing in common.
I was so happy and comfortable in her presence. She sparkled from within.
I will truly miss your smile and our conversations.
My prayers for her loved ones, and for our mutual friends.
