On July 21st, 2023, Frances completed her journey of 83 years on this earth and made her way to Heaven's Shore. She was born on November 14th, 1939, to Mary Walser Beard and Francis Calvert Beard in Los Angeles, California. She attended C. K. McClatchy High School in Sacramento, California. She met her husband John Courtade in San Francisco, California and they were married in June of 1967, and welcomed her only child, Pamela Marie Courtade Buboltz on February 14th, 1969.
Frances lived a beautiful life with family and friends traveling the world while over the years residing in San Francisco, Sacramento, Roseville, and Rocklin, California and Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. She treasured her time being with and doting on Pamela, Randy, Brooklynn and Brody. Most recently traveling to celebrate Brody's high school graduation in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin before he begins at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in August. Over the years she loved to cheer on Brooklynn's dance team, most recently at the University of Kentucky football and basketball games. She loved to watch and cheer on Brody's baseball and football games over the years. She also enjoyed many family vacations and cruises all over the world, including Hawaii, The Bahamas, Europe, Costa Rica, Florida…. She loved everything about Christmas, especially her decorating and hosting epic Christmas dinners for family and friends over the years. She also hosted many memorable family times at her home in Tahoe Donner, aka "Pam-Tones Hideaway." She was a tough competitor whether in a game of Yahtzee or at one of her favorite 4 card poker or blackjack tables at Thunder Valley, Reno, and Las Vegas.
Frances is survived by her daughter Pamela, her son-in-law Sergeant Major Randy Buboltz, her adored grandchildren Brooklynn Buboltz and Brody Buboltz, grand dogs, Bronx & Bri, Pamela's brother Johnny Courtade, siblings Terri Beard Toth and Tony Beard Jr, special nieces Nichol Jones and Kristin Beard King, many nephews, and friends, including Kathy her best friend/partner in crime of 78 years since kindergarten, and her long time caretaker and very dear friend & traveling partner, Setaita Bryant. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Walser Beard and Frances Calvert Beard, Pamela and Johnny's father, John Courtade and siblings Joe Beard and William Herron and her forever loved furry family members, Trina, Ben and Jerry, Country & Cali and most recently, Brenna.
A private burial celebration is planned.
Frances' journey to Heaven's Shore has begun. We await our journey to meet her and all our loved ones, where we shall never part again. Frances was a true "class act" in every aspect of her journey. Life well lived Mom, Grandma, Frances, Fran, Toni, Toni B!
