Frances Daniels Obituary

Frances Daniels

November 19, 1935 - February 9, 2026

Frances Johnette (Price) Daniels, beloved mother, grandmother, and career woman, went home to join her Lord, passing away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at the age of 90 at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle, Dothan, Ala.

Born on November 19, 1935, in the New Hope Community near Junction City, Ark., Frances, known to her family, friends and co-workers as Johnette, was a graduate of Junction City High School and met the love of her life, burgeoning radio DJ, Glenn Dean Daniels, Sr., while working in nearby El Dorado, Ark.

The two were married in 1955 and lived a life marked by love, devotion, and resilience, raising a son and daughter and moving from El Dorado to Bastrop, La., and then on to Texas following Glenn's highly successful career as a radio announcer and drive time morning DJ.

Johnette spent the last 40 years of her life living in Dothan, Ala., where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. During her time in Dothan following the death of her husband, Johnette entered the banking industry as a Customer Service Representative for Regions Bank for over six years, then at SunSouth Bank from 2006 until her retirement at the age of 79.

Johnette shared a wonderful life with her late husband, Glenn Dean Daniels, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1992 at the age of 56. Together, they made homes in several cities, including Hendersonville, Tenn.; San Antonio, Texas; Waco, Texas; Longview, Texas; and Bastrop, La.-where their two children were born. Through each move and chapter, Johnette brought grace and steadfastness, always putting her family at the heart of all she did, while maintaining full time jobs as an Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper for various companies, and later as Payroll Administrator for the Sigmor Shamrock service station chain that covered the State of Texas in the 60's and beyond. Johnette had an amazing memory and could name every Sigmor Shamrock service station, its ID number and manager on demand, much to the delight of her children, Dean and Debbie, who loved quizzing her during travels throughout Texas.

Perhaps Johnette's largest accomplishment in her life and career was working as her husband's Administrative Assistant, Payroll and Bookkeeper and even as a television producer at their television studio, Video World Productions in Hendersonville, Tenn. It was there, as the "right hand" to Glenn's television production business that the national cable network, CMT: Country Music Television, was launched, created and founded by Glenn and co-founded by her son, G. Dean Daniels, Jr., who served as the network's first Production Director. Dean also personally launched CMT, signing the world's first country music television network onto satellite and cable affiliates, on March 5, 1983. Of course, it was Johnette who had the presence of mind to take a photo of this momentous event! She appears in the first newspaper and trade media articles on the historic launch of CMT and can be seen with Glenn and Dean on the CMT Founders website (www.cmtcountry.com).

Johnette will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her loved ones, her determination at being a career woman during a time when most women did not work outside the home, her generous spirit, and her remarkable ability to create a welcoming home for her husband, son and daughter, wherever life took her. Johnette's legacy of love and care will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Johnette was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Price; her husband of over 37 years, Glenn Dean Daniels, Sr.; and her brother, Charles Wayne Price, who passed away at 85 just 11 days prior to Johnette's death. Survivors include her son, Glenn Dean Daniels, Jr. and his wife, Cindy Damer Daniels; daughter, Deborah Lynn White and husband, Richard Ronald White; granddaughter, Roni Lynn (White) Gilley and husband, Ronald Dwight Gilley; granddaughter, Brandi Nichole (White) Whitfield and husband, Dustin Robert Whitfield; and three great-grandchildren, Kara Ann Gilley, Noah Robert Whitfield and Lillian Grace Whitfield.

Johnette was known for her determination and ability to "get things done." Following her husband Glenn's death at 56, she grieved for three months, then said, "I can only vacuum the house so many times, and now it's time to get out and go to work!" She was successful in her first job in Dothan, Ala., following Glenn's passing to her final at SunSouth Bank with her only regret that she got only a passing 70% on her computer aptitude test. When she took that test, she had never used a computer! Johnette's sense of humor, and taking everything life threw at her, has been an inspiration to all who had the privilege to know her.

As per her request, Frances Johnette (Price) Daniels will be interred next to Glenn Dean Daniels, Sr. at the Gardens of Memory cemetery in Dothan, Ala., following a graveside service attended by her loved ones at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2026, officiated by Pastor Keith Frith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johnette's memory to the American Diabetes Association.
