Frances Grice Dickenson

Frances Grice Dickenson died Monday Nov 6th in Bentonville at the age of 94. Fran was born March 13, 1929 to Lavelle Parks Mayes and Walter Moss Mayes in Charleston, Mississippi. Fran was the youngest of 5 sisters. In addition to her parents and 4 sisters, she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Dickenson, daughters Deborah Pyle (Ronnie) and Susan Frazier. She is survived by her son Chip Dickenson (Wynn) of Fayetteville, son-in law Ronnie Pyle of Bella Vista, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Fran moved from Mississippi to Memphis as a teenager where she finished high school and met the love of her life, Charlie Dickenson. Fran and Charlie were married in 1949. After starting their family in Memphis, they relocated to Jacksonville, Florida and then Rockville, Maryland where Charlie was employed with Ford Motor Company. They settled in Mountain Home AR in 1971 after buying the Ford dealership. Several years after Charlie's passing in 1975, Fran moved to NWA to be close to her grown children.
Fran came from humble beginnings and was full of gratitude for the blessings in her life. She was always very kind and saw the best in everyone. As one of her grandchildren said "we could all be a little more like Granny". She will be greatly missed.
Fran will be interred next to Charlie at Baxter Memorial Gardens in Mountain Home with a private service at a later date.
