Frances Eddy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Clawson on Oct. 30, 2024.
Frances Marie (Goclowski) Veach Eddy passed away on October 29, 2024. She was born on January 15, 1949, 7th of 9 children born to the late Edward and Helen Goclowski. Frances grew up in Hamtramck, Michigan, attending St. Florian grade school and high school. In 1969 she married Carl Veach and they moved to Wisconsin shortly after because of a job transfer. After their divorce Fran remained in Wisconsin and continued working. She met and married Robert Sherwood Eddy in 1982 and they spent many loving years together until 2002, when Robert passed away from health complications. She continued to work and play in Wisconsin until 2021, when she returned to Michigan for health reasons and to be near her family.
Fran was a totally devoted sports fan, growing up with the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, and Lions in Michigan. While in Wisconsin she worked in the offices of the Milwaukee Admirals hockey team and the Brewers baseball team. She made many lifelong friends with the people she worked with, known as a fun-loving, exuberant, funny friend. Her Michigan family and lifelong friends referred to her as the best audience because it was so easy to make her laugh! For many years she returned to Michigan for holidays and special occasions to stay in touch with her large extended family and friends.
Fran was a lifelong bowler, both with live bowling and later with Wii bowling. She enjoyed Bingo, card games, and word games.
She is survived by her siblings, Robert Goclowski, Felicia Kramer, Monica Sudomir, Elizabeth Hoffman, and predeceased by her siblings, Justine Greff, Raymond, Stanley, and Edward. Also surviving her are her stepdaughter Linda Maier, step-grandchildren Laura Grennier, Paul Grennier, and Gregory Maier. Fran was fortunate to have the love of 3 generations of nieces and nephews in Michigan, and step-great-grandchildren in Wisconsin.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 7th, from 4-8pm at Lynch Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (South of Maple), Clawson, Michigan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8th, at 10am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, with visiting starting at 9:30am. Cremation will take place, and afterward her remains will be transported to Wisconsin to be buried with her dear husband Robert.
